Taejon Christian International School (TCIS), founded in 1958, is located in Daejeon, South Korea. Instruction is conducted in English, and the school follows a blended learning model. TCIS offers education from primary through high school, including International Baccalaureate programs: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP). The institution is among the few schools worldwide that deliver all three IB stages within a Christian educational framework.
The school provides a Western-style academic environment with an emphasis on STEM+Arts skills. Students participate not only in academic studies but also in sports, arts, and community service. TCIS aims to develop competence, character, leadership, and global awareness through internationally accredited IB programs. The community includes local and international students from regions such as Seoul, China, North America, and Europe, forming a multicultural learning environment.
TCIS follows a holistic educational philosophy that combines academic preparation with social and ethical development. The curriculum supports college readiness, differentiated learning, and project-based approaches, while extracurricular activities promote leadership and personal growth. Core community values include peace, respect, service, and international understanding.
The campus occupies a green hill overlooking Daejeon’s Techno Valley and offers modern facilities such as well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, creative studios, a performing arts center with a 500-seat auditorium, sports halls, outdoor athletic fields, and a learning commons. Boarding facilities accommodate about 200 students in several residences with study rooms, recreation areas, and dining spaces.
Students can participate in more than 45 extracurricular clubs and sports programs, including academic societies, creative activities, community initiatives, and athletic competitions through regional conferences. TCIS graduates continue their studies at leading universities around the world.
