Summer Courses of Beijing Professional Institute Nong Ye

Countries: China
Categories: Summer Camps

Summer Chinese courses at the Beijing Professional Institute of Nong Ye are organized by the international center OULU (OU LU). The four-week program runs from July to August and is open to students aged 15 and older. Classes take place on weekdays, while weekends are reserved for rest and optional activities.

Upon arrival, participants complete a placement test that determines their language level, from beginner to advanced, after which study groups are formed. Even students with minimal knowledge of Chinese may apply. Lessons focus primarily on spoken communication, vocabulary expansion, and pronunciation improvement. Each class lasts 45 minutes, and students attend 20 lessons per week. Instruction is provided by native-speaking teachers and conducted in both Chinese and English to support faster adaptation.

Participants live in the institute’s on-campus residence in shared rooms for three people. Each room includes beds, wardrobes, bedside tables, air conditioning, and a private bathroom. The academic buildings are located just a few minutes away on foot. Students arrange meals independently in the campus dining hall, which offers a variety of dishes including traditional Chinese cuisine. Payments are made in RMB.

The program fee covers tuition, accommodation, the placement test, and a completion certificate. Additional expenses include meals, airfare, registration fees, learning materials, medical insurance, and transportation. Group airport transfers can be arranged for an extra fee, and airlines may provide escort services for minors. A flight from European countries to China typically takes about eight hours.

During weekends, the center may organize excursions. Students also often explore the city independently, visiting places such as Tiananmen Square, the Temple of Heaven, and Beihai Park, paying only for metro tickets and entrance fees.

A program manager assists students and parents with organizational matters, especially during arrival and initial adaptation. After settling in, participants usually manage daily issues independently. Upon completion of the course, students receive a certificate confirming their studies.
