Founded in 1432, Sevenoaks School stands among Britain's oldest and most prestigious co-educational boarding institutions. Located in Kent, it lies within an hour of London and Gatwick Airport. The school serves approximately one thousand students aged eleven to eighteen, with around three hundred forty boarding places. International students represent over forty nationalities, comprising about ten percent of enrollment.

Sevenoaks pioneered the International Baccalaureate in the UK nearly thirty years ago and remains a global leader in IB education. The average IB score consistently reaches approximately forty points, significantly exceeding the world average. In recent years, over ninety percent of GCSE grades achieved A to A*. Graduates progress to Oxford, Cambridge, Yale, MIT, UC Berkeley, and other leading universities worldwide.

The school embodies a distinctive spirit of trust and freedom. Students may explore the charming town of Sevenoaks with prior notification, and local residents consistently commend their exemplary behavior. This atmosphere of responsibility fosters independence while maintaining strong pastoral support through personal tutors.

Boarding accommodation spans four houses separated by gender. Younger students share multi-bed rooms, senior students occupy doubles with peers, and Sixth Formers enjoy single rooms, many with private bathrooms. Each residence features communal kitchens and comfortable common rooms for socializing.

Academic and extracurricular opportunities are exceptionally broad. Students initiate new clubs when interests arise, with resources provided to support their ambitions. Offerings range from aikido and economics to mobile app development, philosophy, and astronomy. Over thirty sports include sailing, fencing, taekwondo, rock climbing, squash, ballet, and yoga alongside traditional football, cricket, and rugby. Creative students access a 420-seat theater, concert hall, drama studio, and recording studio with professional sound and lighting equipment.

The hundred-acre campus houses modern science centers, spacious classrooms, and fully equipped laboratories. The sports complex features a twenty-five-meter pool with seven lanes, fitness centers, squash courts, indoor tennis courts, dance studio, and table tennis facilities. Outdoors, two all-weather pitches, running tracks, and multiple playing fields support year-round athletic activity.

Admission is highly selective, requiring applications at least one year in advance. Candidates submit two years of academic records, teacher recommendations in English and mathematics, English proficiency test results, and a personal statement explaining their interest in Sevenoaks. Mathematics testing may also be required. Awards and certificates recognizing achievement in academics, sports, or creative arts strengthen applications.

Additional costs include registration and visa fees. The school's remarkable outcomes, trusting environment, and comprehensive facilities continue attracting families seeking exceptional British education with global perspective.
