LTL Mandarin Language School

Categories: Language Courses

LTL Mandarin Language School, founded in 2007 in Beijing, is an international language center teaching Chinese to students aged 7 and older. The institution has grown significantly since its establishment by German entrepreneur Andres Leimbock and now operates in several locations, including Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Beihai, Xi’an, Chengdu, and Singapore. Over time the school has developed numerous programs and residences, while maintaining a multicultural learning environment with students from many countries.

The center reports more than 7,000 students enrolled between 2007 and 2020 and over 100,000 hours of Chinese instruction delivered by about 100 native-speaking teachers. Groups are intentionally small, averaging around three learners, which allows for intensive language practice.

Programs range from short- and long-term Chinese courses to preparation for university admission in China and the HSK proficiency exam. Students may also participate in internships with Chinese companies, embassies, volunteer organizations, or join business and cultural travel programs across the country.

Classes are typically scheduled from Monday to Friday in morning or afternoon sessions, while individual lessons follow a personalized timetable. Instruction covers grammar, vocabulary, and practical communication skills.

Students can choose several accommodation formats: single rooms in school residences near the campus, shared apartments with local or international students, private studio apartments, or placement with host families where breakfast and lunch are provided. All housing includes standard amenities such as heating, water, air conditioning, and gas.

Learning is complemented by social and cultural activities including city tours, film screenings, art events, kung fu sessions, visits to local schools, and group outings. The school emphasizes immersion in Chinese culture and communication practice beyond the classroom.

Tuition includes study materials, Wi-Fi, drinks at the school, and cultural activities. Airport transfers in Beijing or Shanghai are available for an additional fee. Admission is open to international students of any language level, and staff conduct online consultations to design a personalized study plan before arrival.
