Categories: Summer Camps

Founded in 1874, Institut Monte Rosa operates a summer camp on the shores of Lake Geneva in Montreux. The historic campus occupies a stately mansion steps from Chillon Castle, with grounds featuring open lawns for games and barbecues. Twenty-four hour security ensures student safety.

Students aged six to eighteen may study English, French, or German, combining two languages if desired. The camp's long experience in language education ensures effective instruction for all levels.

Accommodation is provided in shared residences with rooms for two to three students. Boys and girls live separately, with peers from different countries sharing rooms to encourage international friendship. Single rooms may be available on request. Windows overlook Lake Geneva. Two daily meals are served in the dining hall, with healthy snacks, fresh produce, and unlimited water available. Dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, and religious needs can be arranged.

Daily activities offer multiple options each afternoon and evening. Sports include athletics, football, water skiing, rafting, tennis, windsurfing, wakeboarding, sailing, mountain biking, volleyball, badminton, basketball, archery, and fitness. Creative pursuits feature theatre, cooking classes, arts and crafts, ballet, and cinema. Cultural excursions explore Swiss castles, museums, and galleries. Evening entertainment includes themed parties, discos, and musical performances.

The camp combines language learning with active recreation in one of Switzerland's most beautiful settings. International friendships develop through shared activities and residential life, creating lasting memories alongside measurable language progress.
