British Summer School in China

Countries: China
Categories: Summer Camps

The British Summer School in China is an international summer program held in Harbin and delivered entirely in English. It was established through cooperation between a leading UK seasonal education organization and Chinese educational partners. The program combines language training with the development of key 21st-century skills.

Designed for students aged 7–18, the courses immerse participants in British culture through daily interaction with native-speaking teachers and a variety of elective subjects. Teaching follows the CLIL approach, where English is learned through academic topics, communication practice, and cultural exploration rather than through language study alone.

Students live on campus for the duration of the program and receive balanced meals. The learning environment includes modern classrooms equipped with interactive technology, individual study spaces, and specialized laboratories used for practical activities.

Academic learning is combined with an active schedule outside the classroom. Each program track includes daily extracurricular activities, regular campus events, and two weekly excursions to cultural or historical attractions.

Courses run during the summer in two sessions from July to August. The program fee covers accommodation, meals, and academic supervision by qualified staff. Additional costs may include the registration fee, travel to China, and personal expenses.

Participants study in small international groups and receive internationally recognized certification such as BAC and CPD. The curriculum also focuses on leadership and critical thinking. Three specialized course options are available for different age groups.

Admission requires completing an application form, submitting documents, and paying the registration fee. After acceptance, students receive arrival and program information. Applicants must be 7–18 years old and hold a passport, health insurance, and a valid visa or residence permit for China.

Upon completion, participants receive a certificate confirming language progress and international study experience, and may request a recommendation letter from the Summer Center Director.
