Brighton Language College BLC

Countries: United Kingdom
Categories: Language Courses

Founded in 1995, Brighton Language College operates year-round in the heart of Brighton, opposite the Royal Pavilion and minutes from the seafront. The school serves students aged sixteen and above, with family programs accepting children from five to eleven years. Students come from diverse backgrounds including Italy, Russia, Asia, and Turkey, creating an international atmosphere.

All teachers are native English speakers with higher education degrees and specialist certifications for teaching multilingual groups. Communicative methods and interactive lessons replace textbook drilling, supported by individual attention and cultural activities. Family programs allow parents and children to study together while enjoying Brighton's attractions.

The college occupies over one hundred square meters across three floors. Facilities include thirty-seven spacious classrooms with modern technology, computer labs, multimedia centers with internet-connected PCs, quiet self-study rooms, two comfortable lounges with televisions and kitchenettes, and patio gardens for relaxation. Free WiFi covers the entire building, and lifts provide accessibility between floors.

Accommodation options suit different preferences. Host families offer single or twin rooms with half-board or breakfast-only meal plans, located fifteen to forty minutes from school by bus. En-suite singles with half-board are also available. Prices vary by season and accommodation type. Hotels partnered with the school accept students aged eighteen and above with minimum four-week bookings. City residences provide single or twin rooms within walking distance, priced individually.

The social program integrates language practice with cultural exploration. Evening activities include parties, movie nights, beach barbecues, and sports such as paintball, basketball, and volleyball. Weekend excursions require supplemental payment and feature London sightseeing and shopping, Windsor Castle tours, Cambridge university visits, and Paris weekends.

Courses begin every Monday year-round, excluding public holidays. General English accepts all levels from beginner. IELTS preparation requires Pre-Intermediate, FCE preparation requires Intermediate, and CAE preparation requires Upper-Intermediate or above. Fees include placement testing, final certificate, tuition, and social activities. Additional costs cover registration, accommodation registration, learning materials, medical insurance, and airport transfers.
